Ashton Park Homeowners Policy Manual -
3.4 Pet Feces
No pet shall be allowed to deposit its feces on any Common Area unless such deposit is immediately cleaned up and removed by its owner or other party responsible for the pet. Common Areas are for the enjoyment of the owners, residents, guests of Ashton Park and are not depositories for the waste of any animal. Residents walking pets are required to carry items sufficient to clean up after the pet.
Here's why - the Facts:
Dog waste is an environmental pollutant. The EPA has labeled it a non-point source pollutant, placing it in the same category as herbicides and insecticides; oil, grease and toxic chemicals; and acid drainage from abandoned mines.
Dog waste is the #1 source of food for rodents in developed areas.
Dog waste has an elevated risk of rodent infestation. Mice and rats rely on the
nutrients and food particles in dog excrement, making high traffic dog areas a breeding ground.
